This last weekend in my local community garden in Pilton, North Edinburgh, we set about to create our very own medicine garden. Its a very exciting opportunity for us to share knowledge about using medicinal plants for health with a diverse range of local people, and to take a step towards more resilience and self-empowerment for this community.
We planted a whole lot of herbs, and look forward to up coming workshops on how to make our own remedies from them.
Next week there will be a herb walk for anyone interested to learn more about what grows in our locality. Meet at the Community Garden, West Pilton Brae, behind the Youth Centre, at 6.15pm on Thursday 1st May, with sensible shoes!
