Herb Walk in Holyrood Park
13 March at 3:00 pm til 5:00 pm£7.00 – £14.00
A regular herbal offering from Grass Roots Remedies herbal medicine co-operative: come and learn the historical and current uses of many of our beloved wild plants as both foods and medicines. This year we will be kicking off our monthly herb walks in the iconic Holyrood Park in Edinburgh where we will be looking closely at the spring time plants under the dramatic shadows of the crags & Arthur’s Seat.
We will be outside for 2 hours and at times walking very slowly so remember to wrap up warm and wear appropriate footwear. Even if it’s sunny it can be chilly under the shade of trees. We will be walking along paths and grassy areas which can get muddy after rain. There will be toilets open at the start of the walk at the Education Centre. These will be shutting just after 3pm.
Our herb walks are aimed at adults, but kids are welcome if you think they would enjoy the walk. We ask for a donation to be made for each child if possible. Please don’t bring your dogs as we cannot guarantee how other participants feel towards them. The pace is also often not enjoyable as we regularly stop & talk about what’s around us.
We aim to make our events participatory, enjoyable and inclusive, and will do our best to cater to individual needs & learning styles – please get in touch if you have any concerns. GRR co-op have the right to cancel any workshops that are under booked. In this case participants can choose to have a refund or to have their ticket transferred to a future herb walk of the same price.
